Textiles Worlds : Mixed Media
Workshop one - Find to Form
Beginning of the project. We all has to look at two presentations of what Textile mixed media and the whole concepts of determination and courage to take chances and risks when it comes to research and experimentation. Within the class, I got started by following the steps of using the task list. The task list was to use as many ways of just using paper.
I had to create meter long paper peice. The crumble effect on this peice, makes it stand out from the peices I created in the class. It brought my attention to think about certain artist and designers from the power point presentation and what I've known about perilously. I will be continueing to make paper pieces from contextual references. (continue - soon)
Everyday found objects
I began to reflect more on the Find the forms task list of all different ways to creating pieces of work that could be further developed.
Layering
To Twist
To Hang
Scan art.
I began to think about how can I capture more details, while drawing simple 100 shapes? I am very popular with Scanned art and I thought this would improve the quality of drawings I produce.
Workshop two - Laser Cutter with illustrator
I had the chance to pair up with one of the students to create some designs from the Illustrator system to the Laser cutter system. Illustrator is not my strongest points for using technology, however I have completed two designs and had the chance to use the cutter. Learning and observing the piece of equipment was really enjoyable and I will be doing it again to create more peices. I will be carrying on designing new shapes and more inspirations for creating garments.
I really enjoyed the laser cutter system and we have rebooked to continue with the same designs as seen above and also we have been creating more designs for use to experiment with fabric. My intentions are to follow my direction for Fashion. I will be continuing to research more contextual references to expend my knowledge for pattern making.
Workshop three - 3D Pattern Making
Workshop four -
Emily Hiller, has brought to my attention for creating different types of knots. I really like the shapes and tones of the structure and how it can reflect into my practice. I am going to continue experimenting with other everyday mixed media to complete small and large samples, to find some results. I got inspired by the everyday materials and how its formed in different construction designs that brings the whole element of this garment together.

rise, beginning, or derivation from a source - origins
To start the origins project of, weeks one and two were too experiment with creativity in many ways by using different types of drawings methods by using different tools, learning to use media, colour, scale and form to follow the first task. The task was to complete all sixteen cards with instructions to form a large range of work. All sixteen cards must be used by Visual drawings, collecting found objects and photographed imagery of the City of Manchester .
In my studio time, the lectures had planned us to follow their tasks. Each student had their own object, to draw in different media and scales to form, different methods.
Recorded.
Many different methods and medias used to communication in styles and volume.
Drawing from shadows
Drawing using repetitive pattern in
different pencil/media shadings.
Recorded.
City of Manchester.
Small sample of photographs I had taken, that I found interesting to take for it sense of detail, fragile and unusual aspects of City of Manchester. I think, it has the perfect place to explore art by its Architect buildings, museums and art galleries, shops, cafes, restaurants and nightclubs everywhere.
I am really interested how the City still remains the old, unwanted side of broken down builds, how some elements the streets are not excellently clean and tidy. However, I see this completely different. This 'unwanted' view of Manchester, makes us artists be interested and excitement brings too our paper.
Recorded.
Outside and within the studio.
Mixed media five shading tones.
Mixed media different tones shading painting with combined drawing with objects.
Mixed media, ink painting.
Close up - Glove, black ink and super glue.
Drawing with object, black ink.
Drawing with object, with ink.
Drawing tool.
crumpled sheet of paper with rubbing surface.
Pattern window.
Pattern window.
Mixed media piece.
Close up - Paper, blonde fake hair, watercolors, pva glue and hints of salt. Once it was set and dry, I keep having thoughts of how to improve this piece but at the same time not to damage it. I keep thinking about, what would happen it I put it in heat? Numerous of times, I kept placing the piece in the Oven and Microwave. I preferred the Microwave method. It was quicker to see the qlue and salt to change colour and show its true form of my interpretation of a wall of bricks in mixed media. Additionally, I also discovered that the heat made certain sections between the spaces and lines of hair crumpled and made some effective details.
Another photograph will be placed.
Collected Objects placed together to form numerous pieces to experiment with.
(long drawing will be uploaded and followed by others)
